Personal Notes:
Arthur George Boyce birth was registered at Barnet March 1897 3a 295. In 1914 he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He probably left for Canada in June 1913 on Corinthian bound for Quebec and Montreal.

His enlistment papers are available online at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/index-e.html

His medical examination was on 26 August 1914 at Valcartier, Quebec which had just been established and which was to become the largest military base in Canada for World War 1 . He gave his date of birth as 5th January 1894. In fact it was 5th Jan 1897. He added to his age as he was under 18. It is very doubtful whether he had one year of military service or even whether he was a farmer. It is curious that he registered as Roman Catholic.
Arthur George Boyce, Private 7609, serving with the Canadian infantry (Eastern Ma Ontario Regiment) was killed at Ypres on 6th Nov 1917 and is was one of many whose grave is not known. He is remembered at the Menin Gate at Lleper, West Vlaanderen, Belgium (Panel 10-26-28).
