Personal Notes:

Following all ex Denise:
Solomon was born about 1855. He was the son of Charles Brewer and Elizabeth Stevens. He passed away in 1935 in Ontario Canada at Mercy Hospital for Incurables. According to his medical records Solomon, also known as Thomas, lived in the province for 55 years, having migrated there in 1880.

Thomas married Selina Pitts (Crooks). She was previously married to John Crooks a mariner, on 29th November 1858, Exeter, Devon England, at St. Edmunds on the Bridge. (Eng Devon and Cornwall Marriages 1660-1912.) John Crooks died on 22nd April 1871 and named Selina as his beneficiary in his Will.

1881 Eng and Wales Census have John Crook aged 39, Master Mariner at Stokeinteignhead Devon with his spouse Selina aged 34 and children Amanda 11 years, and Frederick 6 years. Another daughter Maude Louisa was born in 1871 Newton Abbot Devon England. Maude was to marry in Ontario Canada on 14th June 1905 to William J Ham.

Selina Brewer 40 years, and her children Amanda 18, Fred 16, Maude 9, and an infant male aged 1, left Liverpool on the ship "Sarmatian"" immigrating to Halifax Nova Scotia Canada January 1881. (Canada Passenger Lists). The unnamed child was probably the son of Thomas named after him: Thomas Solomon E.P. Brewer born Newton Abbot Devon in the 3rd quarter of 1879.

England & Wales Census records of 1871 show Solomon's occupation as "Wheelright" so travel appears to have been in his blood! Solomon (Thomas) Is buried at Prospect Cemetery Toronto Ontario Canada.

Son, Cpl Thomas Brewer, born 1879, died 8th Feb 1934 aged 54 and is also buried at Prospect Cemetery. He joined the Canadian Railway Troops and was part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during WW1.

Selina (Pitts) Brewer died 14th January 1916, aged 79. Address on death registration is 412 Dupont St. This is also the address on marriage papers to Thomas' second wife Mary Budleman.

We find a 2nd wedding for Thomas in Ontario Marriages: Solomon Thomas Holmes Brewer married Mary Budleman on 11th October 1922. He was aged 66 years, a widower, occupation is dairyman. His new wife is also widowed, aged 50. and was born USA. His mother is recorded as Elizabeth Burford!??
