Following all ex Denise
William migrated to Victoria Australia 1881.The Website 'Mariners and ships in Australian Waters' Lists 'Garonne" of Liverpool from the Port of London to Sydney, NSW, via Adelaide and Melbourne, 6th January 1881.W.H.Brewer, passenger steerage. (Transcribed from State Records Authority of NSW: Shipping Master's Office; Passengers Arriving 1855-1922; NRS13278, [X150-151] reels 444-445). On 19th May 1888 he married Sarah Paton Reg 3541: At the residence of the bride's parents Williamstown, by the late Rev John Clark. William Henry, 4th son of the late Charles Brewer, to Sarah, only daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Paton. At home this evening Ötaro"148 Gatehouse St Parkville. They were the parents of 7 children from 1889 to 1908: Hilda Elizabeth 1889, Henry Charles 1891, Ethel Blanche 1893, Norman Edward 1896, Beatrice Mary 1898, Alex Robert 1904 and Jean Stevenson 1908 (Died 13/11/1908). Newspapers in Melbourne Vic, The Argus and the Advocate, write of the appointment of W H Brewer by the Executive Council, to Engineer in the Victorian Naval Forces, January 1890.. Sarah died at Williamstown aged 78 in 1942. Parents Robert/Elizabeth (Martin) Reg 11346. William died in Parkville Vic aged 79 (Reg 6505) at his home in Gatehouse St in 1936. He is buried at Williamstown Cemetery with his wife Sarah Ann, who died in 1942. (Reg 11346). Parents of William are recorded as Charles/ Elizabeth (Stephenson). |
